Saturday, June 4 is our 1st volunteer work day of the 2016 season – this day is also National Trails Day! Please plan to meet on June 4 at the Laurel Mountain warming hut, at 9:45AM. Projects will include trail brush back, clearing downed trees from trails, and other miscellaneous projects. Please wear sturdy shoes and plan to bring along gloves, water, and snacks/lunch. Coffee and light snacks will be provided. Our special partners from REI have generously donated prizes to raffle, helping us to celebrate our 10th year as a volunteer organization.
On a side note - We will also be offering a chainsaw safety training course on Saturday, August 6 from 9AM to 3:30PM. This course is required to be able to run a chainsaw during our volunteer work days, but does not permit you to fell trees. Registration is required for this training and can be done so at 724-259-2201. Registration is limited.
