PACCSA members receive the newsletter 'The PA Nordic Skier', discounts on daily trail fees at the top touring centers in the region: White Grass ($5) and Wilderness Lodge (20%), and discounted entry fees to the PA Nordic Championship races. The intangible benefits of membership are much more - belonging to the local ski community, finding an opportunity to give back to your sport and even your State Parks by participating in trailwork and outreach, and the knowledge that your membership fee or donation has been used to support these activities.
To join PACCSA, either complete and mail a registration form to us with your payment, or use the online form if you prefer to use a credit/debit card or Paypal. Membership cards are usually sent out with the next newsletter (which is also sent to the e-mail newsletter subscribers). If you need yours urgently, please send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Rick Garstka, Treasurer, 309 W. Marion St, Munhall, PA 15120-2751.
Donations to PACCSA can be made by mailing a check to Rick Garstka (see above) or using the online form. Donations are used to finance the webcams (webcam maintenance, DSL fees and website hosting fees), trail maintenance and may also support the Yellowjackets program. Donations were used to extend the red and orange trails at Laurel Ridge State Park in the summer of 2012, this was made possible with a PA state grant to DCNR, PACCSA and Fay-Penn. PACCSA has been a PA non-profit since 2004 and gained 501(c)(3) status in 2012, thanks to the hard work of Board member Jim South. Donations to PACCSA are now IRS tax-deductible items.
There are many opportunities to get involved, from trail maintenance to race administration. PACCSA members do trail maintenance at Laurel Ridge and Laurel Mountain, working with DCNR and LMVG, and also at Wilderness Lodge. Contact us and let us know how you would like to help.
