| March came in like a lion! Everything was skiable on Saturday. Approximately a foot and a half of snow...beautiful powder over a firm base. Carpe Diem Sunday before warm weather and upcoming rain takes its toll! This is the snow that we've been waiting for all winter! | 3/1/2008 |

| Last day of Winter and we have closed for the season. One of the worst skiing wise in recent memory as the ground never froze and cold never set in even with over 145" snowfall to date. Lots of rain and warm nights took what fell. We only had 30 days of good skiing the entire season! | Today was the last day (unless we happen to get a Spring snowstorm) for x-c, if you want to call it that. On Sat., after a great day of Spring (downhill)skiing & boarding, I stopped at the golf course for some last x-c. The snow was soft, what there was of it. Most of the snow in the woods melted during the week. The golf course had coverage on holes 1, 2 & 3. Much of this melted away, during the day on Sat. I started skiing at around 5:30pm. Spring was definitely in the air. Last night, the snow pack locked up. The downhill slopes were good (& very fast!), thankx to extensive grooming. At 6pm, the slopes closed for the day. I went home & did not stop to x-c on the last ribbon of what was no doubt fast, frozen crud. All in all, it was a good x-c season at Blue Knob. Once things got rolling, we had 9 consecutive weeks of x-c. If you haven't been to Blue Knob lately, next ski season, throw some snow toys in the car & head on out to Bedford county! This probably will be the last x-c report until next Fall...before I forget, we have some of the best mt. biking in the state....come check it out! | 3/17/2008 |
